The Man From Snowy River

The Man From Snowy River

I cannot express how grateful I am to Denny for so sensitively capturing one of the last moments I spent with my younger brother who has since passed away.

I was fortunate enough to share a two day trail ride with him at the site of the filming of the Australian movie "The Man From Snowy River."

He was a great lover of animals and shared a special bond with them. I caught this moment on film during a short rest break while climbing the challenging Australian mountainside.

Completely unstaged, he was unaware that I had taken a photo, and it truly showed him at peace.

I was concerned that this feeling would not be able to be reproduced, but Denny worked her magic and now I can evoke those wonderful memories everytime I look up at this work of art. Thank you Denny for your sensitivity and kindness.

"I have 2 pet portraits that Denny has done for me and I could not be happier.
One of the portraits is of my 2 Dobermans.
She not only was able to create a beautiful piece of art, she captured the personalities of my dogs, and both of them are very different.
Each time I look at it I am still amazed.  It's like my dogs have been captured on canvas and they will always be with me.
I have since asked Denny to do a portrait of our 15 year old calico cat.
When I saw the finished piece it took my breath away.
There was Molly, I could almost wait for her to meow! "

“For years I have wanted to have someone create a portrait of my four-legged companions but I knew that it could not be just anyone.

It had to be a person whose love for animals is clearly seen through their artwork.

It had to be a person that could focus on the intricate details that are present and express my animals’ unique personalities.

Upon seeing Denny’s work, I knew I had found the right person to express my special friends in their natural form.

This process has been remarkable! I am thrilled with the end result that I received from Denny.

The portrait went beyond satisfying my every expectation.  It is more than I even hoped or imagined.

I recommend Denny’s work without hesitation and I will call on her again for another masterpiece.”

"We all have passions in our lives.

One of my husband's is the ACE Hardware that has been in the family for over 90+ years.

When he turned 50, another passion was acquired, our beloved Sheltie named Sydney.

Denny was able to give us something that will last a lifetime, a painting of Sydney, captured in pastel chalk.

We have a beautiful dog and everyone can see that in her portrait.

I am thankful to have met Denny through a mutual acquaintance.

She was easy to work with and very willing to please me as a client.

I appreciate and admire the talent of an artist.  Especially one as talented as Denny."

Precious

Pastel Dog Portrait

"I wanted to get my husband a special gift for Christmas.
I thought about the day when our dog, Precious, who is almost sixteen years old, would no longer be with us and how much I would like to surprise him with a portrait of her.
I gave a few pictures of her to Denny and when she showed me the final portrait, I was so taken aback with how beautiful and life like it was.
The portrait is just like the picture and I feel I am looking right into her eyes.
Needless to say my husband loved it.
Thank you Denny for using your God given talent to make beautiful life like memories for us to look at.
We are planning to have Denny do a portrait in the future, of our huge gray cat, Hunter.
I know it will be every bit as beautiful.
Thank you again, Denny"

Denny Martindale is an extremely talented artist who has a beautiful eye for detail.  Her portraits look like photographs instead of paintings.  I literally had to ask her if what I was looking at was a photograph of a pet or an actual painting of the pet.  As it turned out, it was one of her custom pet portraits that she had created for a mutual friend of ours.  I knew the dogs in the portrait, and the techniques that Denny used in creating this portrait were just amazing to me;  the dogs' coats looked shiny in the portrait, just like they do in real life, I just couldn't get over the talent that Denny posses that allows her  to create the detail that just reached out and grabbed me while I gazed at the portrait.
Denny Martindale is also an award-winning artist of the Tennessee Art League's Juried Membership Show!
